(10 April) Persian scholar and the vizier of the Great Seljuk Empire, Nizam al-Mulk Tusi was born in Tus, Khorasan. He served as a vizier to Sultan Alp Arslan and his son Sultan Malik Shah I for almost three decades. The Seljuk government and bureaucracy reached its highest level under Nizam al-Mulk.
