(27 February) The 7th Mughal Emperor, Bahadur Shah I, died in Lahore (now in Pakistan). Bahadur Shah I came to the throne after the death of his father, Aurangzeb, in 1707, which was followed by a Mughal war of succession. Bahadur Shah emerged victorious in this war and finally sat on the Mughal throne at the age of 63.
