7 July 1770	Battles & Sieges	(7 July) The Battle of Larga was fought between the Ottomans and the Russians near the Larga River in Moldavia. The Russians decisively defeated the Ottomans in an 8-our long conflict. The Battle of Larga was fought on the same day as the Battle of Chesma. While the battle of Chesma was a naval war, the battle of Larga was fought on European soil. In both battles, the Ottomans were defeated by the Russians. In the battle of Chesma, 11000 Ottoman soldiers were killed by the Russian armies.
