15 October 925	Deaths	(15 October) Persian Muslim polymath, physician, alchemist and philosopher Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakariyya al-Razi, known to the Latin world as Rhazes, died in Rayy, Iran.
15 October 1529	Battles & Sieges	(15 October) The Ottoman forces under the personal command of Suleiman the Magnificent withdrew the Siege of Vienna after holding it for around 2 weeks. With winter approaching and with it the traditional closing date of the campaign season (26 October), the Ottomans had to end the siege.
15 October 1542	Births	(15 October) The 3rd Mughal Emperor Jalal al-Din Muhammad Akbar was born in Umerkot (now in the Sindh province of Pakistan). Akbar was the son of Humayun and the grandson of Babur who founded the Mughal Empire of India in 1526 CE.
