4 December 1131	Deaths	(4 December) Noted Persian astronomer, mathematician and poet, Omar Khayyam, died in Nishapur (now in Iran). Omar Khayyam was an outstanding mathematician and astronomer who wrote several works including Problems of Arithmetic, a book on music and one on algebra before he was 25.
