1500 years of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad

According to Islamic historiographical sources and the lunar calendar system (Hijri), the year 1447 AH represents a significant chronological milestone, marking approximately 1500 years since the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. This calculation is derived from established historical records regarding the Prophet’s life span and migration patterns.

Historical accounts indicate that Prophet Muhammad lived for 63 years, with his life divided into two distinct geographical phases. The first phase encompassed 53 years spent in Makkah (Mecca), his birthplace and the initial centre of his prophetic mission. The second phase consisted of 10 years in Madina (Medina), following his historic migration (Hijrah) at the age of 53, which occurred in 622 CE and marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar.

The mathematical correlation suggests that adding the 1447 years since the Hijrah to the 53 years preceding it yields approximately 1500 years since the Prophet’s birth, establishing this period as a noteworthy commemorative milestone in Islamic chronology.
