This Day in History: 1748-03-11

(11 March) The Mughal armies under the command of Prince Ahmad Shah defeated the forces of Ahmed Shah Durrani at Manupur, in the northwest of Sirhind, Punjab. Thus, the first Indian invasion of Ahmad Shah Abdali proved to be a failure. Mughal Vizier Qamar al-Din Khan was killed in the battle.
